God Will Restore Israel.

A theme throughout the Bible, is the restoration of Israel (remember, themes carry more weight in understanding the Bible than single verses - that may or may not be correct).

God says He will gather Israel and start again to build a model nation so the world can see how it is done.

It is important to note "when" this will happen. The Jews [just one tribe of the 12 that make up Israel] would like it to happen very soon, but there has to come a time of repentance first. This deep repentance is brought about by the almost complete destruction of the world as we know it. It would seem that that is the only way humans will come to their senses and stop breaking the Ten Commandments

The Feast of Trumpets is a summary of what has been prophesied  to happen before Israel is restored.

Rev 7:4-8 gives a list of the tribes that make up Israel at the time of restoration. Dan is dropped and Manasseh is added from the original Israel that came out of Egypt. (Some say this is a copy error, and Manasseh should be Dan. However, at this stage, I think it is more likely that Dan is dropped, and Joseph is expanded to Ephraim and Manasseh)

Ezekiel 11:17-20 gives us the important bit of information that the people who make up Israel at the time of their restoration, first have to be given a "mind change" by God, before they will submit to Him and His laws.

Here is a list of Scriptures (probably incomplete) that talk about a future time when God the Father will restore Israel.

(26) They will live securely in it; they will build houses and plant vineyards. They will live securely when I execute my judgments on all those who scorn them and surround them. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.' "

Ezekial 34:12-15

Eze 34:12-15 NET. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his scattered sheep, so I will seek out my flock. I will rescue them from all the places where they have been scattered on a cloudy, dark day. (13) I will bring them out from among the peoples and gather them from foreign countries; I will bring them to their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the streams and all the inhabited places of the land. (14) In a good pasture I will feed them; the mountain heights of Israel will be their pasture. God - unlike some humans - when He starts a job, He finishes it.

God the Father [the father of the man Jesus, and Adam and Eve, and hence all humanity] wanted to set Israel up as a model nation (Ex 19:3-6) for other nations to copy. The family started by Abraham, had grown while they sojourned in Egypt, and it was time for the Exodus to begin (Ex 3).

Israel rebelled in the desert, and the entry into the promised land was delayed 40 years. When they did get to cross the Jordan, they then had to fight for their land. Their faith wavered, and this was only partially successful, but by the time of David and then Solomon, the nation of Israel was starting to become a model for other nations. Queen Sheba came to check it out, for example.

However, after Solomon died, doing God's will took a backseat when the leader/s started to push their own agenda. For the rest of history, Israel was not even close to being a model nation.

Hence, God will pick up where He left off - but not till after He and Christ come down to earth and set up the kingdom. With Christ ruling as King of Kings, men will not be allowed to reject God's will as Rehoboam did. Also with Satan restrained, and a new desire to serve God put into people's minds, this time God will have success.

It is a time to look forward to.
